10 Percent Bigger

The truck that hit me ...

Not literally (although it was a close call earlier). Christmas started much as many have in the past. Roll out of bed, lots of presents, breakfast, etc. The only big difference was that I told the Mrs. that I didn't feel great. Not bad, just not great. Fast forward to 4:30. This cough keeps nagging me, and why do I feel cold? I'm never cold. I'm going to go take a quick nap. Fast forward another 4 hours. sweats, chills, coughing, 103 fever? That sucks. Dehydrated leg cramps? doh, push fluids.

Apparently I caught some nasty upper respiratory infection, and that is going to make training difficult. Oh well, forced rest and lots of water should take care of it. Plus they gave me cough medicine with codeine, so I get to have weird dreams also. Being sick while on holiday sucks.

I got the Xmas shopping blues.

Actually I don't, but I did knock out a significant portion of it today. The last couple days stores have been insane. I drive a truck. A big black truck, and yet to some it has become invisible. I pulled into a lot on Friday, and a woman driving on the wrong side of the road got mad at me because I wouldn't move. I yelled at another guy in the parking lot, because he almost ran over me and a little old couple while backing out. Apparently it's ok to blindly throw your car into gear while simultaneously talking on the phone and pulling out into a cross walk. Who knew?

One thing I do to calm myself (other then yelling at the evil doers), is listen to a little relaxing music. So, next time you get a little tense, check out Andy McKee.
